What do you think?

This will be the 3rd grandchild on my DH side and the 2nd on my side. We have a boy and my SIL is having a boy in June. I'm due in September. Nobody knows about my PG except my family. My DH's side doesn't know anything yet. We couldn't wait to find out what the sex was with my son, and I'm really anxious to know what this baby is. Mainly because I don't have patience. But, I was thinking that maybe we shouldn't find out what it is and drive everybody nuts! Considering my IL's I'm sure would want us to have a girl since there's only boys right now, so I thought it would be fun to wait and find out. On the other hand I don't think I could wait? It would be fun to have that as a surprise since TTC both times were planned, and I charted, etc. So it wasn't as much of a surprise. I also thought that maybe my DH and I could find out and not tell anyone. What do you think? Thanks!

I couldn't wait to find out with this one (my first). However, I say now that in the future I would want it to be a surprise. If you can, hold off. I know people who did and said it was just amazing and that no one ends up caring, just as long as the baby is healthy.

We waited both times. We had a lot of fun with our families letting them guess and doing a "pool" to see who was right. And it was just so amazing when she popped out and the doctor said "It's a girl!" You should have seen the look on DH's face and the excitement in his voice as he called everyone and said "Sarah Anne is here and she's perfectly healthy!"

Not saying it's not as exciting if you find out, just this is what worked best for us.

we found out this time and I think next time Id try to hold out till the end for a surprise. I was dying this time and needed to know but maybe next time I could be a little more patient I agree with you - try to hold out and keep everyone (including yourself!) guessing :)
