Foxwoods
It looks like Dh and I will be booking a weekend away for my bday in 3 weeks. We want/wanted to stay at the MGM Grand, figuring that it's newer hotel, but the reviews on tripadvisor aren't that great. If you've stayed at Foxwoods, would you reccomend MGM Grand, Grand Pequot Tower or Great Cedar Hotel? They are all the same price within $20.

Re: Foxwoods
We just stayed at the MGM 3 weeks ago. Never again. It was a nice enough hotel but it's a long walk to the rest of Foxowoods. The casino in the MGM is also very small. I was really disappointed in it. I've stayed at the Great Cedar and Grand Pequot and they are both very nice and convenient. The Grand Pequot is a little "fancier".

Re: Foxwoods
I just stayed at the MGM grand this Friday.
The hotel is nice...the room was new and clean and I had no complaints about that.
But if you are there to gamble the MGM casino is small (I was surprised how small) and it is about a 10 minute walk to Foxwoods (inside). I did hear there was a shuttle bus back and forth between the two but we just walked.

Re: Foxwoods
To be honest, DH and I are not big gamblers. I'm sure we'll hit thetables and slots a little, but that's not our main incentive. We're going more to get away and relax. We'll probably go to the nicer restaurants and out to the club there.
