No- they are donations. I think it's different than narcotics.

Hmm..
Because I asked my RE's assistant what to do with my leftover meds (like my Ovidrel which we won't be using anymore) and then I said, "Maybe I can donate them to someone else" and she said "I'll pretend I didn't hear that!"

Yeah. When I asked my RE if if it was ok to use donated meds, he just looked at me and said, sternly "I can only approve the use of meds that are prescribed by me" Then there was a long pause...so he knew what I'd be doing anyway.

Odd- my RE actually gave me two different meds that were donated from another patient. Actually still had the name on one of them!
ETA: It was the nurses that gave me the meds. I also told them I was taking meds from someone else and they were relieved I would have them and said it was a good idea.

technically- yes. They're prescribed for YOU ... and you don't have the medical expertise to know that your giving them to someone else appropriately...
that being said, a lot of ppl on here do it. Their dr. has made the determination that x, y and z meds are needed, and you'd be donating them to one of those ppl rather than just selling them on the black market, KWIM?

It is different if your doctor's office is "donating" them to you since they are the ones prescribing them. Speaking of donating, I still have the boxes of Endometrium in my fridge. Someone please take them

If it is illegal I don't think anyone would try to get you arrested. It's a gift..it's out of love and support.
Cornell will give meds if people donate them back to them.
If I have any meds left over I will certainly offer them.

I would want to also, that's why I'm asking.
My RE will not take back any meds to donate to others.
Cornell will take them I think. They said that at their IVF orientation. I don't know if they would take meds from patients of other clinics but it doesn't hurt to call them.

At my RE, they told me sometimes the medicine fairy (aka ladies who did not need the meds anymore) would mysteriously leave them at the RE..as a donation

ALL the meds I used I got from my RE's office from people who donated them back. Then when I was done and had an extra vial of Follistim I gave that back also. It was wonderful to not have to pay for any meds out of pocket!!
