What should I expect?
I have to go in for a post coital on Wednesday morning. I know we need to have "Relations" as my doctor said on Tuesday night. What exactly happens on Wednesday morning? Has anyone had one?

I've never had a post coital, but I believe all they do is take a swab of the mucus off your cervix to check for live sperm and if they are moving normally.

Re: What should I expect?
I had a post-coital done months ago at my RE's office... He gave us "directions" of when to have "relations... Basically the dr. will take what looks like a large tweezer and just take some of the mucus to see if there are any live sperm... It is uncomfortable for a minute... Not painful tho!! GL on Wednesday!!

Re: What should I expect?
I had a postcoital test. You need to BD the night before. The next day, the doctor will swab some cervical mucus and then go look at it under the microscope for motile sperm. To me, it was like a pap, but I felt it even less really.
I honestly don't put too much stock in the postcoital- in my case, the doctor found no sperm (we were so upset), but I got pg naturally 3 weeks later. go figure!

When do you have this test? Another thing I am worried about...hostile CM. All of these things run through my mind as reasons for us not getting pregnant

If you're doing IUI, you don't need to worry about that
