Fibroids
Does anyone have them and did you have them before you were pregnant? Also, where are they located? Thanks..

Re: Fibroids
I have one large one I've had since before I got pregnant.
Before I got pregnant it was 5 cm, when I got pregnant it went to 6 cm and at my 12 week ultrascreen it measured 9.75 cm!
It is located on the front, outside, of the uterus - on the right side. Since it is on the outside my doctor doesn't feel like it will interfere with my pregnancy. Only issue might be is if it shifts down it could block part of the cervix so I would need to have a c-section.
I've been told it can continue to grow, it can stop growing, or it can disintegrate.
HTH!

Re: Fibroids
I have tiny fibroids now and I had Large Fibroids prior to TTC. I ended up having a myomectomy to remove 8 orange sized fibroids prior to being PG via IVF (I had other IF issues as well). We had been ttc for over 3 years when we decided to remove the fibroids. I am so happy that we did. My fibroids were located in the walls of the uterus not the cavity.
Fibroids are tricky. Some fibroids grow with pregnancy and others shrink. Some small fibroids can cause the most problems or not and vice versa, with large fibroids. My tiny fibroids now are not presenting a problem. A lot of women do have fibroids and not know it.
Are you pregnant or TTC? Good Luck!

Re: Fibroids
Thanks for the responses. I just had a miscarriage and it seems that this one fibroid in my uterine wall (it is 2cm) may have moved a tiny bit in the cavity, although I won't know for sure until I have a water sono, so I am waiting and taking it from there. It didn't grow with the pregnancy or the meds I was on.

Re: Fibroids
I have one in the back of my uterus which is near the opening of my cervix. Its measured at 7 cm. I had a previous fibroid but it was removed when I had surgery in March for endo and to remove a cyst. When I got pregnant, it grew back, but luckily it hasn't gotten any bigger. Most likely I'll have a c-section.

Re: Fibroids
i have one yes - it's the size of a 'golf ball' - but it's far enough away from the baby that no one is concerned. i don't know the exact location - i apologize.

Re: Fibroids
I had fibroids prior to getting preg. and I now have some behind my uterus. I am not sure of the size but the docotr monitors them.
