Gasho of Japan - Hauppauge
Does anyone know if all of the food at Gasho is cooked hibachi style? I'm allergic to shellfish, and I don't want to risk having my food mixed with shrimp.
Can you order food from the kitchen also?

i'm not 100% certain but, i think you could ask to have your food cooked first on the grill and then they could cook the shrimp, etc. next...

Not sure about the kitchen, but it is hibatchi style. I am also allergic to shellfish. I tell them right away and ask them to cooka ll the shrimp last. Never been a problem.

cj is corect...we go all the time and they cook the shrimp last for those in our group with a shellfish allergy

Thanks everyone!
I'm going out with a group of friends, and they always suggest Gasho's. I hate being the debbie-downer all the time and say I can't eat there.
I'll just make it very clear that I'm allergic to shellfish.
The thought of it still makes me nervous though....
