handpainted room accents..

anyone handpaint accents in your baby's room? i already handpainted her wooden letters which some of you might remember (speaking of which I need to take a picture of them in her room to share with you all today) and I was thinking of handpainting some flowers/butterflies on her walls but wasn't so sure what to do. I was just thinking of some random clusters in certain areas, like around the crib, in the reading corner, and around some of the picture frames we have hung on the walls. I wasn't thinking of doing an entire border going around the room or anything like that.

so i'm unsure if this would look OK and am looking for pictures or suggestions if any of you have done it before.

TIA!
Melissa

Chat Icon Chat Icon Thanks! It was really easy. I picked up some children's coloring books and made some stencils out of some of the critters I liked. I drew the little character on the wall with a pencil and then went back in and painted it. I had a friend help me and it took the weekend, but I'm sure it wouldn't take you as long if you don't plan on doing it throughout as a border. The great part is that Alex LOVES it. Everytime we play in the rocker she just stares and stares at the little critters on the wall. Especially in the beginning, she was entranced by the little red ladybugs!

Re: handpainted room accents..

You can do a tree pretty simply and get or make a leaf stamp. MY SIL did this and she is not what you would call crafty. They also have cool things called wallies that are like stickers in all different shapes. You can also look up clip art online and sort by category to find pics of what you want to do. You can use acrylic craft paint.
