We registered at BRU and my only piece of advice would be to start by looking at the bigger items. We started by the bottles, etc and it was so overwhelming for me!!!!
The most important thing is to have fun!

Give yourself a few hours and just walk around and have fun. Another suggestion I have as well is to start at BBB if you are registered there. I started at BRU and filled up most of my registry there-----then went to BBB and was much more impressed with their selection.

You are going to feel completely overwhelmed. I went with my friend and it was so tiring with so many choices.
I would start with the fun stuff and prep yourself knowing that there is no way you are going to do the whole registry in one visit.

Walk through the store and only do what you can. There is no need to register for everything today. It can be overwhelming and it should be fun.
Try and have fun:)
I just wanted to add that Target has a alot of great stuff too. I wish that I had registered there as well.
