Costa Rica
Going to Costa Rica and I was wondering how much money I should budget for food? I'm not staying in a resort.
Also, how should I handle money? ATM, bring cash?

Re: Costa Rica
It depends... where in Costa Rica are you going?
Most of the ATMs especially in the touristy areas dispense american dollars. You should make sure though you have LOTS of singles! Most everyone will take american dollars, but make sure you do have some colones on you just in case. We found food to not be overly expensive.

Re: Costa Rica
It totally depends on where you are going. My husband and I spent 6 weeks of last summer in CR with me taking Spanish classes and we traveled throughout a lot of the country. Some places we stayed the meals were super cheap and some were very expensive. Most of the tourist areas you are going to spend like $15-$25 for dinner depending on what you like to order. Feel free to FM if you have any other questions. Have a great time! We went during the rainy season and the weather was pretty awful all the time. You are going at a much better time!
