Back from Retrieval...
6. 6?!? ugh. I was looking at my stim sheet while I was waiting and I had over 15 decent follies, but Dr. K said he had trouble getting to my right ovary. Terrific. I had 6 last cycle, too. I'm hoping for a decent fert report.
They had to put a catheter in to drain my bladder, I guess b/c it wasn't empty when I went in. I'm sore, but ok. I wanted to eat the whole fridge when I came home.
We're going to take it easy today and try not to feel to disappointed. But I am.

Thanks girls. I know it takes only 1, but this ER really ****** me off, b/c the follicles were there. They just couldn't get to them all. There were at least 5 really ripe ones on the right. How common can that be? Not at all, I suspect.
Just a question...what happens to the ones they didn't get? Do I ovulate them? What if sperm somehow got in there?

Don't worry, I'll follow the rules. But it IS a good question!

The ones they couldn't get will either turn into "cysts" or you will release them.
As long as you abstain you have nothing to worry about.
6 is not a bad number, especially with your age and if you get a good fert. report.

ugh. i know you are disappointed...I am going in tomorrow and they think there are only 7 follies. i have been sad all week!
we have to believe it will work. everyone says it only takes 1. well, lets try to believe it!
