No. I didn't have to. I took the HcG shot 36 hours before retrieval but now I'm on progesterone suppositories, not the PIO shot.

I think some REs use suppositories instead of the injections.

Some RE's will have you do PIO's for the first couple of days, then switch you to suppositories others will have you do them until they release you. I was on PIO's from the day after ER until a week before I released from the RE.

My RE had me do the shots the whole time- I didnt mind though, I heard the suppositories were icky
