New to Long Island
DH and I are new to LI (I'm also new to message boards, so if I can't ask questions like this- sorry!). We will be seeking IVF in the very near future. I'm just looking for referrals or advice for different clinics in the area... we've been to all of the websites, but don't know anyone who can vouch for the drs. Thanks!!

Re: New to Long Island
Thanks! We are in St. James and have been working with Stony Brook Hospital since we arrived... they performed our emergency surgery to remove my tube a few months ago. While they were great (and I love my dr), I really want to look around and work with compassionate, smart drs!

Re: New to Long Island
Welcome - good to see you over here. I live way out east (Exit 69 off LIE) and I travel to my RE, but its only 2 wks where it gets intense. I started at Stony Brook but then did my research, like you and switched, first to RMA of NY and now at Cornell(CRMI). Good luck. Do you have the SART info SART info
Its all the stats on all the RE's. I mean you have to remember that stats aren't always the whole picture. It depends on the clinic and who they turn away etc... But, it does help.

Re: New to Long Island
I wouldn't recommend Stonybrooks RE's(actually I don't even know if they are there anymore-I remember hearing he merged with another Dr. From what I read here you can't go wrong with Cornell. Nyu is pretty well respected. On the island-LOT of posters here go to LI-IVF-I did not like the Dr I met with there but others seem to like the practice alot. SIRM is probably the place to go if you have immune issues.
I believe you and I both have a tubal issue? I got PG on my 1st IVF with RMANY. However-I had to go into the city some days. I have not heard good things about RS of NY. There are a few people here who go to North Shore and seem happy. Good luck-like BA said-sometimes it comes down to who you connect with or who can address your issues best. We interviewed 4 clinics before choosing Dr Ruman and RMANY. (FYI-the others were Batzofin Fertility, SIRM and LI IVF)
