New to Clomid...

What are the side effects - if any - to the Clomid treatments?

Also, has anyone has an IUI before - what should I expect? (in terms of discomfort, pain, recoop - if any is necessary)

I have done clomid for 2 rounds

1st round - headaches and hot flashes, produced 2 follicles, IUI - piece of cake, didn't really feel a thing, over in a miniute

2nd round - increased clomid - headaches and a little moodiness - produced 5 follicles (my ovaries were very enlarged) - had a lot of cramping due to the number of follicles. I did back to back IUI this cycles, 1st day hurt and had cramping - (again due to the number of follicles I produced) - 2nd IUI - didn't hurt at all.

My only side effect with Clomid was hot flashes. I did 3 cycles of it and each one the hot flashes got progressively worse.

The IUI was easy...it isn't any more uncomfortable than a pap. Good Luck!
