Thinking forward...

If this cycle doesn't work, what is the usual protocol in terms of waiting to do a subsequent FET? What about another fresh cycle? How long do they usually make you wait?

Trying to stay realistic here...

Re: Thinking forward...

You're soooo like me!

Since I had no frozen embies after my first cycle, I was allowed to cycle again as soon as my beta was below 5. There was exactly 8 weeks between my first ER and my 2nd. I started m/c on April 4th and was able to start back on BCP 2 weeks later.

Re: Thinking forward...

Really? They didn't make you wait a cycle? My RE made me take a month rest between my last injectable IUI cycle and my IVF cycle so I have a feeling she'll do the same to start an FET cycle or fresh cycle.

It's just as well, I suppose, because that way I can take advantage of my healthcare spending account for 2009.

Re: Thinking forward...

Nope, he said there was really no need. The only time he had me wait was after our last IUI. I had been on Clomid for 6 months at that point and he wanted me to be not only physically prepared for IVF, but mentally as well. And it allowed us to take advantage of our Flex Spending for the year!

My dr. said the same thing. Once we knew my pg. wasn't viable and the bleeding started they had me pay on a friday and were all ready to start a FET that upcoming weekend.... until I had to get the shots.
They told me it doesn't hurt or help your chances doing it back to back. Chat Icon I don't think you're going to need to worry about that though! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Thinking forward...

I found out at the end of August that my first IVF cycle did not work. I did a natural FET in Sept. I went to the same clinic at Mrsrbk...

Re: Thinking forward...

I've always gone right into FET's from fresh cycles.
I do think most RE's make you wait a month between two fresh cycles.
