Every Drs office is different, but mostly 12w, 20w & 32w are the standard. Some do more, some do less.

Re: HOW OFTEN..
My Dr only does one to date the pregnancy, then two more 12 weeks and 20 weeks.
It also depends on your insurance. Many insurance companies won't cover more than what is medically needed.

does insurance cover 3d or 4d sonos when the time comes I can get one? Usually not. Depending on where you get your Level II, they *may* have a 3D/4D option on the machine. I have yet to have such luck however

Re: HOW OFTEN..
I went at 9weeks and 18 weeks. No more unless there is a medical concern.

usually not as those are deemed "non-diagnostic"

Re: HOW OFTEN..
My OB's office is giving me one now to date the pregnancy since I'm irregular (I don't think this is standard). Then there is the ultrascreen, 2 level twos - 1 at 18 weeks and 1 at 22 to check out the heart etc. Then depending on your growth and if there are size concerns then you get at least 1 growth sono towards the end.

Re: HOW OFTEN..
It depends on your doctor and your insurance. Are you sure you're getting an untrasound at your appointment? Many doctors won't do one before 8 weeks.

Im not 100%, when I called to make the apt 2 weeks ago I could swear she said I would but now I cant remember. Oh well, I can wait, I have 9 months to wait so I might as well get used to this waiting game.

Re: HOW OFTEN..
I had one at 6 weeks to date the pregnancy, one at 11 weeks for the ultrascreen and one at 18 weeks as an anatomy scan.
I had a growth sono at 35 weeks b/c my doctor was concerned about IUGR, but that is not standard.

This is the "schedule" I believe my dr. does as well. This sounds familiar with my 1st pregnancy. I did see the heartbeat the other night at 6w2d.
