we aren't suppose to leave the food out anymore
and my older cat- smacks me in the face when I am sleeping- when he wants a snack
it's annoying to say the least

Tiny does this also. If you are in the computer room he lays in front of the closet door where his treats are and if you get up from the chair, he jumps up and down on the door because he thinks he is getting one......

my parents cat does that to my dad if the other cat junior eats all the food he wakes my dad up at 2am crying in his face till he gets up and gives him more... my cats if the dishes are empty when we are sleeping they run around like crazy knock things over till they get our attn its crazy sometimes i wake up in the morning go in my living room and pillows and blankets are all over the place lol

That's so funny. 
The new cat we just took in smacks us as we walk by. He'll stand in the doorway to the kitchen or sit on a chair and as we pass, he hits us, like "Hey, is it time now? How 'bout now?". I'm afraid he's gonna trip me one of these days.

Once I was looking for something in the fridge, and my cat jumped onto the empty little shelf between the little drawer and the big drawer Now I always double check when I close the door to make sure he didn't jump in!
And my dog treats are in my bread drawer so whenever I open it, Teemu and Anabelle come running over for a treat (Anabelle wants the dog treats too!) It is so cute

Daisy does the same thing when she hears me open the drawer in the refrig to get cheese out. She suddenly appears behind me out of nowhere!
