Pregnant Olympian

Is anyone watching the Olympics? D. Sartor from Germany is doing the skeleton, which is sort of like luge, and she is 2 months pregnant! Chat Icon Chat Icon Doesn't seem safe... Chat Icon

That's the one where you go down face first? Seems so much more dangerous than the luge, which doesn't seem safe to me to begin with.

Re: Pregnant Olympian

I guess if you worked that hard to get to the Olympics, nothing would stop you.Chat Icon

Well, as crazy as it sounds, I'm going to say good for her! I know if it were me (and I've been through 2 pregnancies now), I would do it. Seems rough, but if you are in good shape, the baby is well protected. I know I'm probably in the minority on this one, but it is an Olympic dream for some. Now if I was further along than 3 months, I would not.

I guess it depends on the event, but with the luge you are going 80+ miles per hour with very little protection. I don't know that I would risk it.

But if I made the Olympic curling team, nothing would hold me back. Chat Icon
