Can someone help me figure this out?
My nurse originally told me that I would have to get bloodwork done to make sure I didn't ovulate (which I did get done- on 10/6). I didn't ovulate- so they started me on provera for 5 days (also on 10/6). I ended the provera on 10/10. AF showed up on 10/13. I spoke with the nurse yesterday and told her that AF arrived on 10/13, and ended the night before last. Originally she told me I'd def. be able to get into the next cycle doing a FET, but then yesterday she said 'hopefully' I could get in. I'll have been sitting out for 3 months by that point- I don't want to hear 'hopefully'.... Anyway, I'm supposed to call her back again when it's time to go back for more bloodwork to make sure I didn't ovulate. When would that be? Figure it 'should' (if I had a normal cycle, which I don't) be 28 days from CD1, right? I'm kind of lost..... So I'm thinking around 11/7 I can call her to set up bloodwork to make sure I didn't ovulate- and if not then they can put me back on provera for another 5 days. Then around 11/14 or so I should get AF, and with that bleed I can start me FET protocol, right? Does that make sense? If you're still reading this- thanks- I know it got long!

Re: Can someone help me figure this out?
Okay, first off - the reason the nurse said hopefully is because they work in Series, which are not one month long - they are generally around 6-8 weeks long. So, she is saying that hopefully they will be able to get you into this or the next series before it ends. I'm not sure what the last transfer date of the last series of this year is, but that is what it's based on. The whole series thing has something to do with reporting their statistics to SART.
Now, as far as your cycles. If I were you, I would call them on CD20 or so and have them check to see if you ovulated. Then, you can take the Provera for 5 days, get AF and still be in the 30 day window. That means if AF showed on 10/13, you could call on 11/3 and set up for bloodwork. This puts you in for AF around 11/10 or so. Not that big of a difference, but it may be enough to squeeze you in.
Remember though, that the Dr. is going to have the final word on if you can transfer or not. I don't remember when you got the shot, but they are going to want you to wait at least three full cycles. Hopefully, by November you will be in that range.

Re: Can someone help me figure this out?
Thanks Gerty- that's what's throwing me... I know they work in series, but my nurse was the one that gave me this whole plan, back in September... and now all of the sudden it went from the plan to 'hopefully'- but the dates haven't changed.
She told me that we wouldn't actually be transferring any embryos until after 3 months from the date of the shot... (and made it a point to say 3 months, not 3 cycles- b/c that's the 'medical standard' or something, -though honestly they are the only ones I've seen that wait 3 months, based off the info I've gotten from others who've taken the shot who each only seem to wait 1 month- which is fine if they feel that's safer)... and that that would be fine.
I think that's what I'll do- call on CD20- that should cover my bases, right? She told me that the original plan would've had me doing a FET either the first or 2nd week of December. Do you think they'll let me check that early? They know I don't ovulate on my own, so hopefully they will. Thanks again Gerty- I just hate sitting out- and always do better when I have a plan... she threw me off yesterday when our plan went to 'hopefully' so I'm just trying to figure it all out...

FWIW, When I was trying to figure things out for me, I remember them saying that for a December cycle, I would have to start stims by 12/2 to fit into the series. How this helps with a FET, I have no idea.

I'm thinking their last series ends around 12/15....which would make sense if you had to start stims by 12/2....
I'm sure it will all work out. The nurse probably just said "hopefully" to be on the safe side...just in case things don't work out.

Thanks- I still think that's what I'll do- call my nurse on CD20 and see if I can go in for bloodwork, or at least find out when I can go in.
