Re: Worried.
i know it's hard not to worry, but my doctor won't even see me til week 8! i'm sure it's fine, but this is really a reason why they shouldn't see people this early--it only leads to worry!

Re: Worried.
First... Trust me, I know it's hard not to worry. I'm 23.5 weeks, and still worry!
Secondly, they are basing your pregnancy age based on your LMP, which is what most Drs. do, but it's entierly possible that you also ovulated later than you normally would. So there is a chance you are only 5 weeks pregnant, not 6. At 5 weeks, you really can't see much of anything via an ultrasound.
Right now, the only telling thing is your Beta HCG which is the hormone they are testing for. This is common.
I know it's hard... but hang in there.

Re: Worried.
Try not to worry.
A lot of Practitioners won't do an ultrasound until 8 weeks or later because thre is no guarantee you will see anything sooner.
The bloodwork they did was to check your HCG or "beta" levels. THey are llooking to see that they increase by at least 60% every 48 hours.
Try not to worry...you will find a lot of women post this same thing and end up having successful pregnancys!

Re: Worried.
I know it's easier said than done, but try to relax, one week can make a huge difference in what you'll see on an ultrasound. My Dr. wouldn't do an U/S until 8 weeks because of the risk of not seeing anything earlier causing undue stress.
I had some litght bleeding at 7 weeks so I also went in to have my levels checked every other day for a week, the numbers were *nearly* doubling, but still good enough to make my DR confident that everything was OK.
The beginning part of a PG is definately the most stressful, try to hang in there

Re: Worried.
I know its easier said than done but try not to worry too much as you'll see that this is very common. This is why a lot of doctors won't even see you until you're 8 weeks as they don't want you to be nervous when you don't "see" anything on your sono. Hang in there till your next appt!
