Buttermilk Inn & Spa versus La Tourelle

We are getting away for a few days this month and are choosing between these two hotels / spa. I know one's in the Hudson Valley and one's in Itaca - but the driving distance isn't really a problem. I am leaning toward La Tourelle because it's in the Finger Lakes Region and that's an area we love. It's also a little less expensive, but probably because it's farther away. I've never spent much time in the Hudson Valley.

Has anyone been to either place? Any thoughts?

I've never been to Buttermilk, but I totally vot for La Tourelle. Its really nice. And its so close to Ithaca, there are so many nice wineries and so many places to eat.

The steak house attached to La Tourelle- John Thomas is fabulous. My husband has a weakness for the bacon wrapped filet.

I vote for La Tourelle too! I spent so many nights at La Tourelle and John Thomas during college--we had lots of fraternity formals there. It is beautiful, and there is so much else to do around there.

My dad lives in the Hudson Valley, but I much prefer Ithaca!

Thanks ladies! We know the Finger Lakes very well - we go at least once or twice a year. Chat Icon I love that area and my DH went to college nearby.

We booked La Tourelle earlier this morning. I can't wait to get away! It'll be beautiful up there this time of year and I just want a MASSAGE! Chat Icon

Have either of you ladies been to the spa there?

I'm dying for a good, long massage...
