mu puppy hates his collar!
Max hates his collar! He is constantly scratching at it.
Anything I can do to help him get used to it? I feel like he is going to scratch his head off!

If I may pimp out my favorite collar site for a minute, we got Lilly a Smoothie collar from K9Closet - it's the softest thing I've ever felt! She was scratching at her neck to the point where it was red and irrirated. We bought her a Smoothie and she has no problem wearing it. (we also bought her a ton of other colars, but I have a mild problem  )
Here's the website K9Closet Click on the first heart and then go to the Smoothie collection. It was a lifesaver when we first got Lilly and she wasn't used to wearing a collar.

It took Katie a while to get used to it when she was a pup. Now it only comes off for bathtime.

Is your pup a boxer? If so maybe get a lined collar. Boxers are known to have skin sensitivities, so that may be part of the issue.

Is it maybe too tight?
Or, do you have his tags on it?
Lola didn't like her tags at first - so I spent a few days just getting her used to the collar, and then added the tags later - she still scratched at them for a few days, but once she got used to them, she was fine.
Now she gets mad when we take it off for any reason !!

We just got a puppy (he will be 5 months tomorow). He hated his collar, but we kept it on him and within a few days he got used to it! Good Luck!
