Gus' tail *UPDATE* Upadted a last time
Gus had fleas last week...we gave him a bath and bombed the house. He has been biting the base of his tail like mad well yesterday it was swollen and it looked like puss was coming out. He is still wagging his tail, walking normal, sitting, laying and nothing has changed as far as energy. He's not acting sick, but if you so much as look at his tail or even ruffle the fur a tad be winces and runs away. This morning he let me touch it a bit around the tail and it looks like he has an infection. I know to call the vet, but has this ever happened to anybody
***UPDATE***
He has an appointment at 1330 today that my mom is takinghim too.....How in the world would I get a dressing or an ointment to stay on his tail?

He has a flea infestation on the base of his tail He's on frontline and has a cortizone(?) cream for it. They said he doesn't need antibiotics, but to keep an eye on it. Mom said he did really well at the office.....except he doesn't like men or white haired people so the white haired male vet made him growl and be all defensive. ANyways all is well....I just never knew this could happen. Oh and now Daisy has to be on frontline also but she doesn't have fleas.

Glad he's doing better. The fleas do love the base of the tail.

OMG this is scary! I hope he feels better.. Did you get bit too?? That could happen you know!! Damn fleas

No I'm ok and so is Daisy our cat...I just feel so bad for him. He's very mopey today, but I think he just doesn't feel right. If he's not better by Monday I'm taking him back for antibiotics.
