Not to Be Al Roker but...

I thought I'd pass on the latest weather report. As you may have noticed - it's started snowing really hard again - according to News 12 - it's a band of snow traveling from west to east and areas can get between two and five inches in one hour. They are saying it could snow until 5-8 PM tonight and snowfall amounts have been increased to between 12-18 inches, more out east, and that many areas on LI have 15+ already. So, for those of you shoveling right now, you may want to wait!

Re: Not to Be Al Roker but...

Boosh - they just keep extending times - I don't think they really know! The latest I heard is that it could very well snow through 5 pm, but the East End of LI could be worse because apparently there is also a storm moving down from Cape Cod that will hit the East End!

They keep changing it. I heard early afternoon, but that was earlier this AM!
Just spoke to my friend and we are hoping, by some miracle for a snow day tomorrow, or at the very least a delayed opening.Chat Icon

There are 18 inches in Danbury (a few miles from where I live) but LI is supposed to get more than than us, oddly enough.

Central Park had about 22 inches not too long ago. We've surpassed the blizzard of '96.

Re: Not to Be Al Roker but...

I just spoke to my familiy and my BIL said it was 22 inches in Central Park. My mom in Queens said it's about 24 - 30 inches near her and she has to go into work (she works in JFK)

It's about 50 degrees here and really cloudy. Feels like it'll snow Chat Icon

I'm on the CT shore. I don't think we have as much as Danbury, but we have at least 1 foot so far.

Re: Not to Be Al Roker but...

I just measured right outside my door and it's just under 1 foot - but I think that's also a drift. But drift or no drift, that's what we have to get through!

I think with snow drifts the accumulation may be worse...
