Hey there! DH and i are planning to go to the dominican this winter. our travel agent gave us pricing on some properties and so far we like these two. Anyone know of them??
Riu Palace Macao
Iberostar Dominicana
Keep in mind we are trying to keep a low budget...any thoughts??

I have a couple clients who have stayed at the Rui, and they loved it. The resort has a great reputation.

we spent a week at Iberostar Dominicana few years ago, we had a great time! good food, great staff, loved it!

We stayed at the Riu Naiboa about 6 years ago. It was the cheapest of all of them, so the food was so-so, but that Palace part looked amazing, and though guests can use all of the resorts on property, you had to be a guest at the Palace to use their ammenities. We will be staying at the Riu in Ohos Riu in May for a wedding.

Have a great time! We just came back from the Iberostar Bavaro on Saturday.
Be careful of the water. I wouldn't drink any drinks with ice. I was violently ill for an entire day of our trip. When I talked with one of the hotel staff, she told me not to drink the juice or water from the restaurants or bars. I would stick with the bottled water, bottled sodas, beer and wine. Nothing that didn't come from a bottle. DS also was sick by the last day. He threw up 2x and had diarrhea.

We stayed at the Iberostar Bavaro. We really enjoyed our time there. teh rooms were clean, food was good, people very nice.

We stayed at the RIU palace in Cancun and absolutely loved it. Check out the reviews on trip advisor for the riu resort you want to stay in in DR
