"Trendy" baby names
What are some new "trendy" baby names you have heard recently?
Chase Logan Cooper Brody Gavin
Peyton Emma Madison (know this was big a few years ago) Ava
I really like the name Chase but DS says it sounds like a California surfer name

Re: "Trendy" baby names
1st I don't think any you mentioned are "trendy" not today, maybe 10 yrs ago but DEF not today. They are more common names like Michael was a few years ago.
I love them all. I actually had Chase on my list and then my brother got a Beagle and named hime CHASE!!!. So that is off the table.

Re: "Trendy" baby names
I agree with the PP; the names you mentioned are actually very common names nowadays.
I love the girl name Madison but am hesitant because I know it's top 5 on most popular. If we have a girl and name her Madison, most likely she will always have other Madisons around.

Re: "Trendy" baby names
This is Social Security's top baby names list. The names on these lists (and a couple years back) are going to be the ones you'll most hear most often when your kids get to school.

Re: "Trendy" baby names
Three of my friends in the past three months named their daughters Emma, not sure if thats considered trendy or popular, but my name is Jennifer, which I'm sure in 1979 when I was born it was considered trendy and popular....
I LOVE the name Isabella and Gabriella, and have noticed those names to get more use lately as well...DH hates them both

Peyton is my fave name, b/c it's not very common - Or at least I haven't heard of anyone using it lately -
I don't really think any of those names are trendy - POPULAR maybe, but not trendy -
I like Chase for a too

I say Es Mee...
But then again, I used to think Hermoine was Her-Minnie.

Re: "Trendy" baby names
Actually 3 of them are Es-mees (not a great fan of) but one of them (my favorite Esme by far) is an Es-may
Whats Twilight? I don't know anything aobut that. In the UK really old fashioned names are popular, one girl I know has two kids, Myrtle and Ernest. Alfie, Sadie, Mae, Finlay, Nancy, Ruby, names like that.
Top 12 boys names: Jack Oliver Thomas Harry Alfie Charlie Daniel Joshua James William Ethan Mohammed
Top 12 girls names: Grace Olivia Ruby Sophie Emily Lily Jessica Chloe Mia Charlotte Lucy Ella Amelia

it's not exactly like Harry Potter, it is just compared to it a lot-- book series which has had whirlwind success.
Esme is one of the characters.. then another character is named after her, creating the name Renesme.

I'm amused becuase a lot of these are very traditional names... literally hundreds of years old... I don't think they're trendy.
some are ETHNIC (Chloe, Mohammed) and some are nicknames (Sophie, Lucy, Alphie, Harry) but not many are trendy or new creations IMO....
Heck, traditional me was debating the name zophia for a girl for a while (polish for sophia)! and Eryk's middle name is Heinrich in honor of my dad who went by the name Harry.....

I think old school names are what is trendy now... Just because they are old, doesn't make them not trendy.
That, and I think the more effected sounding names like Logan, Peyton, etc. are still very popular-- but I think those are more mainstream.
There are always the mainstays like Matthew (also my DH's name), Emily (my best friend's name)-- both born in the 70's, etc. which wax and wane through the years.
All I know is that my name totally peaked in the 70's and it ain't coming back!!
