A bad day

It's been one of those days.

I took a Vicodin last night in the hopes I'd be able to sleep. No dice. The pain was back in full force within 2 hours, and I had to wait 6 hours to take anything else.

When that 8th hour had passed, I popped 2 Darvocet and went back to sleep. I sound like a druggie Chat Icon

I had had an AWFUL headache last night, but figured the painkillers would help. When I woke up after taking the last 2 pills, I looked in the mirror and found that the corner of my left eye is bloody. Not the whole thing, but enough to be noticeable and a little bit scary.

On top of all of that, Chat Icon hasn't been moving around as much as usual, making me feel like even more of a shi**y mother.

God, please let these 14 weeks be over with. Chat Icon

Re: A bad day

I don't understand how you can take these painkillers...?? Were they ok'd by your OB/GYN? These are very heavy duty drugs your taking. If your baby wasn't moving around so much...why didn't you call your doctor? I just don't understand...please explain this to me??

Ummmm no offense or anythign but the OP has been going through A LOT the last few months. You obviously don't know her story... I would be careful what you post because it is obvious she is having a hard time and doesn't need the extra criticism......

She is being CAREFULLY monitored by MANY physicians for a serious medical problem by the way!!

ITA. That was really uncalled for, especially b/c it's obvious she's really struggling with this.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Chat Icon You're doing the best you can in the situation. I truly hope you find some relief soon. Chat Icon

Do you actually think that she would be taking drugs that were not prescribed to her by her OB or other doctor and then be posting about it on a public forum? Are you dense? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon MrsRivera has been dealing with debilitating back pain for her whole pregnancy. If you were so concerned about everything 'being explained' to you, why the helll didn't you click on her name and read previous posts by her? Chat Icon Chat Icon Or, another suggestion... if you choose to be so opinionated [which was not asked for] and scathing in your remarks why didn't you send her an FM? Perhaps you should mind your own business and keep it movin. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Beth- the placenta's job is to filter out as much crap as possible so your baby won't be damaged. I PROMISE- your little one will be FINE. You need to keep yourself *as comfortable as possible* in order to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

You are NOT a bad mother.

i've only seen a couple of posts that you've written but none of them explained what your pain was from. i guess i missed previous posts. first and foremost, you have to make sure that YOU feel as best you can because if you don't, your baby certainly won't. don't feel guilty about what you're taking. i'm sure you've tried every alternative and if this is what you have to be doing for yourself, so be it. i hope the next 14 weeks are easier for you.

Seriously, this was totally uncalled for!! Beth has SERIOUS back issues and most def has spoken with her OB and other medical doctors. She has also tried every "natural" way to cure her back with out taking pills. You think before you post. She is having a hard enough time dealing with this, she most def does NOT need a rude comment to make her feel worse!

Yeah...I try not to include it in every post, because I vent about this a LOT and I don't want to seem like I'm beating a dead horse...

I have a ruptured disc in my back. Basically, the acidic inner part of the disc is sitting directly on my nerve 24 hours a day. At night, when I don't move at all for a few hours, the same part of my nerve is essentially being bathed in acid. If I weren't pregnant, they could do the surgery and I'd be done with it--but because I am pregnant, no neurosurgeon is not willing to take the chance of something happening to the baby under general anesthesia.

As for the other post, I'm not even going to dignify that with a response. Please know what you're talking about before you post. I pray that you never have to experience what I am going through right now.

Re: A bad day

It is amazing to me the OP had the nerve to even respond that way. I cant believe someone would post something like that, actually i can bc some people are just stuck in the clouds.

Hang in there! I wish i had the right words for you but lets count down to her coming right around 38 weeks at term! Lets hope you can shave off a week or two.
