I think the way we treat our troops and veterans is disgusting. I never supported the war in Iraq but I can separate that feeling from my feeling about the troops. I think those men and women deserve better equipment, better pay, and more respect from our government. This story sickens me.

That's absolutely pathetic.
On a similar note, NYPD officers will now have to pay for their uniforms, and all equipment except the gun- INCLUDING bullet-proof vests. How fair is THAT?!?! First they cut their starting pay, now they have to pay for everything? Its a wonder anyone is entering the academy.

Really? When did that come about? My BIL just graduated from the Acadamy, he didn't mention anything about having to pay for his stuff. That's terrible.
