Spinoff to do you go to sleep together?

For those of you who go to sleep before your spouse - do you have trouble sleeping?

My DH works overnight on Monday, Tueday, and Thursday nights - so I am used to sleeping alone those nights and sometimes welcome the whole bed to myself!

But, I often have trouble sleeping on Wed and Sun nights - when he's home and staying up later than me. It's like I can't really sleep peacefully until he's there with me!

I don't have this problem on Fri/Sat because I'm usually staying up late with him!

Just wondering if anyone else had this?

Dh doesn't get home until 10pm from Monday to thursday. I don't sleep well for a week or two until i get used to not having him beside me. Friday, saturday and Sunday, if he wants to stay up later than me, and i can't sleep, he will sit with me until i fall asleep. Chat Icon then he'll go out and play warcraft.

Re: Spinoff to do you go to sleep together?

I love falling asleep by myself and having the bed to myself. It's in the morning's that I like him next to me, but as I'm trying to fall alseep I want peace and quiet and no other movement. I have such a hard time falling asleep and DH has sleep apnea on top of my light sleeper so in all honesty we both have come to terms with having to be separated until I am fully asleep.

My husband has overnights and I feel the exact same way when he is not in bed with me while he is here. I get so frustrated. I want him to come to bed otherwise, I cannot sleep. For me though, I think it's because I am a light sleeper and any amount of light and noise bothers me.

Exactly!!!! It's like the few nights that I CAN actually sleep with him - I want him there!!! And we're also in a very small apartment so it's also the noise/lights - if he's watching tv or on the computer in the living room - he's right outside my door~!

Re: Spinoff to do you go to sleep together?

My whole life I have been the type of person who LOATHES sharing the bed with another. I have been sharing a bed with DH for years now and honestly, on the few occasions I have had to sleep without him I have had an AWFUL time. The night before my wedding was the worst. I don't think I slept a wink.Chat Icon

I usually don't have trouble falling asleep...its staying asleep that is so difficult for me...I wake upi every morning around 3:30...and I usually lie awake for an hour or so before falling back asleep.
