really ticked!! UPDATE
I was in a pet food store near work b/c I needed to buy a bag of dog food. I noticed that the bag was extremely crinkled and old looking....well imagine my surprise when I turned the bag over to find it had expired in December 2007. I grabbed a different larger bag thinking it was just an oversight from the store and was appalled to see that this OTHER bag expired in 2006!!!! I would never feed my child expired food and I certainly would never feed my dog expired food!!!! This could have caused someone's innocent pet to become very ill...all because of the laziness of some associate!!!!! 
ETA...and its not like the bags were pushed to the back of the shelf for no one to see. These bags were smack in the front of the shelves for anyone to buy.
9/10 UPDATE....look at the response i got to my email complaint to the company:
Thank you for taking the time to write. Your concerns regarding our Hempstead location are being investigated. Any necessary corrective actions will be taken. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

How about "sorry we almost poisoned your dog"

I certainly did say something and wrote an email to the company as well. Am I allowed to write the name of the store and where?
I got in the car and said to my friend..."man I would have kicked some serious a$$ if someone sold me expired food for my dog!!!!"

It was Petland Discounts in Hempstead on Fulton Avenue. I'm so pizzed b/c its right across the street from my office so it was so convenient. Emphasis on WAS....

THANK GOD YOU SAW THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT MAKE ME SOOOO ANGRY. WHAT DID THE MANAGER SAY? I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW MANY OF THOSE WERE SOLD.. NOW I WILL ALWAYS LOOK AT THOSE DATES.. TAHNKS FOR POSTING THIS.

OMG! I would never ever go back there. I shopped there once and the store was very dirty and never went back since. That is just horrible! Good for you, that you said something.

hmmm thats true- I didnt even think of that. But to be honest I wouldnt use it anyone. That experience left a very bad taste in my mouth.

It's terrible they don't check these things. I've also been in supermarkets and seen those bags of pepperoni with mold and outdated cheese and milk in the dairy department. I just think that the people that work in the stores aren't that conscientious about what they are doing.

This sounds like the same response I received for my complaint to a big pet company about their bug issues in their stores and food. Sounds like they really care about animals too.
