I can share with you guys
My 42 year old cousin is about 35 weeks. Her shower is Saturday. I just went online and bought her a ton of stuff. I still feel like it's not enough. I want to shower her with all of the gifts. I'm also getting her something personal, just for her.
She may go prematurely, so she's been homebound more or less.
I grew up with her like she was my sister.
She went through 3 cycles of IVF.
I'm so happy for her I could just bust. In the exact same breath, I'm so sad for myself. I cry happy and sad tears all at once.

she's my total inspiration along with you guys. She proves that it can happen even at 42. My parents are the closest thing she has as well. She lost both her parents a while ago.

I agree.  I was just telling a friend of mine (another LIFer) that it's nice to hear of a baby coming into the world, but it's even nicer to hear of someone having a baby who's walked in our shoes... even if on a different path. Hope is amazing, and each PG/parent IFer gives us that. Congrats to your cousin!

Completely understood! It's normal for all of us to feel that way. My BF is 16 weeks pg. She got pg only after trying for 2 months. Part of me is thrilled and the other part of me is a little sad. I find myself going out of my way for her, checking up on her, getting her little gifts more than I normally would. In a way I think I do this bc I feel guilty about being a little sour.
You are being very generous and supportive. Considering she went through a lot to get pg she would understand your feelings.

she totally gets it for me too. When I got that high FSH reading I called her first. I cried for 40 minutes on the phone with her. She just listened, recommended I go to Cornell and told me that using donor eggs was not the end of the world. Luckily I took her advice and some of the wonderful ladies here and went to Cornell where they did not give me the donor egg speech.
Two of my other friends are very pregnant as well the regular way and I am thrilled for them as well. They check on me often and ask what's going on.
We are all soul sisters.

And Like you said, The fact that your cousin was 42 when she conceived would give me hope!
