Back from 37week appt...
Not really sure what to think of it... Doc says I am @ 1cm dilated and I am "very soft" but baby is still up high  Is growing way too fast ~ @ a little more than 3/4lb a week and is nearly 8lbs right now He said he will see me next thursday and depending on babys size and any more dilation, he will either try to "strip" me or induce. I really do not want to be induced. I have my heart set on going naturally.

As you know, having our heart set is no reason to be upset. Drs know best and getting induced does NOT mean c/s. If he gets too big though that could put you at greater risk for a c/s. Coming from someone who was devestated about it, now that she's here I couldn't care less about the delivery.
You're 1 cm and that's fun

You're SO lucky........1cm!!! At least it's something!!!!  I had my first internal last week at 36 weeks and no dilation for me BUT he was able to feel the baby's head, he/she is very, very low in my pelvis so at least that is good. I also had a sono this past Tuesday and at just under 37 weeks the baby was measuring 8lbs so I know how you feel. If I make it to my due date in 3 weeks and the baby is 10lbs it's an automatic C-section. Not really what I want either but this kid won't stop growing!!! I have my next internal tomorrow so I'm hoping like crazy there is some progress "down there". Good luck to us both...........we're getting close!!!!

guys, don't worry too much about those growth sono results!
I had one last night (36.5 weeks) and Scone was 7lbs 3 oz. I checked out the accuracy of them, and it's basically between +/- 10% and +/- 15%, depending upon whom you believe. (my ob said 15%) so that means, in Scone's case, he weighs anywhere between 6 lbs 2 oz and 8 lbs 4 oz.
That's quite a spread.
If you're baby is measuring above the 95th percentile, the accuracy decreases even more and it is +/- 20%... this is why panicked physicians induce becuase of a 10 lb baby, and it is born weighing 7.5 lbs.
So hope for the best!
I am a bit sad that I won't get an internal until 39 weeks. I have no idea what's going on in there, and apparently won't until either a baked good pops out of the oven on its own, or I'm on the cusp of being late.

i know that it's frustrating but hang in there... if you have your heart set on going naturally i have faith that you can are you going to have a growth sono?

Sounds like the little man is getting ready to come out! I know it's scary when the doc mentions induction... freaked me out last night when my OB mentioned it!  You are considered full term so the baby boy will be safe which is reassuring! Take it day by day sweetie!! I hope you just get your membranes stripped vs. induction next week!

I had my 37 week appt today too, but no progress yet! I even tried to BD this week to help things along but no luck!!! Though DH was happy! 
And it sounds like we're all having big babies -- at 35 weeks the doc said my  was already 7 pounds.
I'm really hoping for something next week.

Don't put too much stock in a growth sono. They told me the day before my induction, which was 6 days past my due date, that DS would be over 9lbs. he was born 7lbs11oz. I was induced due to low amniotic fluid and was able to deliver vaginally. I was also only 1cm when I was admitted.
