do dogs get hairballs?
Ollie was dry heaving and then she threw up and when I cleaned it up there was a lot of hair in it. I never had cats but to me this sounds (and looks) like a hairball. Does this happen to dogs or was she just sick?

One of my dogs does. He licks his fur and once in awhile, he will cough up a hairball.

Re: do dogs get hairballs?
I never seen a dog have a hairball or never knew they had them. I might be wrong. My Evee never had one in the 2 year we had her just her typical getting sick. Maybe she ate some of her hair and gagged on it. That could be a possibility but it sounds more like she got sick.

Petunia gets them all of the time. I hate it because it sounds like she cant breathe when she's coughing them up.

Re: do dogs get hairballs?
I'm really glad this is semi-normal and she was eating her paw a lot yesterday so I guess the hairball makes sense. Thanks for the reassurance
