It just disgusts me...
When I see a pregnant woman puffing away on a cigarette. I see it at least 1-2 times a day during my walk at lunch.
And what's worse is they have absolutely no shame or remorse. They just walk the streets of Philly puffing away with their obviously 7-8-9 month pregnant bellies.
Morons.

i couldn't agree more. My mom smoked all through her pregnancy with me. I was small baby..a little over 5 lbs.
I've more than made up for it!

Here's one better. MY SIL smoked her whole life. At 39 had no problems conceiving my nephew and smoked the entire pregnancy. Thank goodness it didn't effect him but he was a premie at 6 wks early. Was 4lbs 2oz. He's 10 now and supper huge. Just always gets me.

I totally agree. I can't believe in this day and age that people still smoke while pg. It makes me think they take their fertility for granted.

It's not even a matter of taking your fertility for granted - that isn't what bugs me. What bugs me is you have a LIFE growing inside of you that is separate from your own. What right do you have to inhale something, for your own pleasure, that will detrimentally impact the health of that separate, individual life? Step outside your own selfishness for a moment and give this little life the best start possible

I couldn't agree with you more. I recently went out to eat and as I was entering the restaurant, there was a clearly pregnant woman waiting outside smoking. I was so upset.

Saw that yesterday! So many woman are desperate for a baby and would care for that baby as soon as they found out they were pregnant and then there are people who take pregnancy for granted

I know someone (well a third party I guess you could say) that chain smokes while pregnant. Have I mentioned shes 21, this is her second child (different father), 5th pregnancy, lives with her parents, has no job, and does not help her parents at all (does not clean her room, etc) oh and the dad of the new baby lives in her bedroom too.
My sister was at a family party she was at and she said she could not stand to be anywhere near her because the chain smoking was making her physically ill. This was before I told my sister my fertility issues!!
