HELP... Screaming Cat
So my cat (Hamburger) DOES NOT HISS...
He meows a lot in a endearing way... For the most part, he is very loving. (ie: doesn't run away from people who come into our home)
My son treated him like a puppy when we found him, so he can be aggresive to my son.. he occasionally nips.. But other than my son, he's not a mean cat.
Last night my cousin stopped by and IMMEDIATELY my cat ran to him and started SCREAMING... A mixture between meowing REALLY LOUDLY and hissing. What scared me was, he was going AFTER my cousin... My brother has a cat that hisses at you but cowers away.... Hamburger looked like he was about attack.
Even when *I* tried to pick him up, to get him away from my cousin, he screamed at me and went to bite me.
I'm telling you.... I was AFRAID of him.
Now here is the thing: My cousin has 3 cats... One of which he (stupidly) brought over for no reason a few months ago and freaked hamburger out. That was the first time I ever heard my cat hiss.
I thought it could be that he smelled my cousin's cats on him, but people have come into our home who own cats before... He's never reacted to me after I was at my parents house who own 2 cats...
Could it be that he remembered the smell of the cat that my cousin brought over, and THATS why he reacted that way???
(I have to say, if this is the case I would be so happy bc that means this particular cousin wouldn't drop by any more )
I'm terrified to think that he could react this way to one of my son's friends if they own a cat...
What should I do?

Re: HELP... Screaming Cat
I just wanted to add that we JUST got back from a one week vacation and we had the neighbor's kid feeding him...
I also found a dead mouse (that my warrior cat must have killed) in the middle of my living room upon our return... (EW EW EW) could it have something to do with THAT?

Has she been acting strange / not like herself other than this incident?

well we just got back from vacation, so I'm not sure...
He was fine BEFORE we left
after I came back into the apt he was a little weird, but eventually back to his normal, cuddly self.
