dachshund rescue?
Hi,
I am pretty new to the boards..I lurked for a while and finally decided to come over from LIWs. I am a huge pet lover. My husband and I have one dachshund, 1 persian cat which we adopted and one DLH cat
anyways my question is does anyone volunteer with a doxie rescue? I have a 2 year old long haired and I would love to get involved with helping. My husband is leaving for iraq in the fall so I really have a lot of time to get involved with this now..

LOL my sister and I staged the pictures of her jumping because we love how she looks with her ears in the air lol...we get her all excited and run back and forth haha

isabella is the best dog in the world. Very calm but still likes to play..we call her the couch potato though because she is lazy LOL!!
My moms dog is a mix of a poodle and maltepoo one of those designer dogs
while she is a good dog a really cute she barks A LOTTTTTTT. I LOVE her though...her and izzy get along very well only because izzy is easy going. My moms dog is very dominate for a little dog
If you are interested in a doxie I know there are many in shelters and rescues!!

I dog sit quite a bit for a long haired Doxie called Jeter.. He gets along so well with my Lola (maltese who does not bark at all) They LOVE LOVE LOVE each other.. I have to say this dog is sooo adorable and so well behaved.. He is really beautiful I have Pics of him in my photo album.. For some reason i could never get pic's to post on the thread.. I have no idea whay I am doing wrong..  But He is really Lolas BFF.. I love your Cat too.. How adorable.. Do they get along??

OMG yeah they LOVE to play!! At first Molly (My moms dog)was very bossy but now izzy knows molly is the boss and its all good lol
your dog is sooo cute!!

I have a dachsie and I know several people involved in rescue but there does not seem to be a lot of active dachsie rescue in the NY area. FM me for more info. Offhand, I can think of DRNA, CTDR, Gulf Coast Dacshund Rescue. My dachsie rescue friends help keep me sane because my dachshund came from a pretty bad place and has some issues. I try to support them by buying things that they sell to support rescue.
