JHS or Brazilian and where?
I know this topic has been done and done but I have some specific questions that I didn't see in the other threads.
I got JHS last summer at Top Point in Flushing. I loved the ease of it. I usually wear bangs and that is the only part I didn't like, they were too straight. A year later I, as you can imagine have a lot of regrowth. I've needed to redo it for awhile now. My questions are:
1) JHS or Brazilian? 2) Anyone know a place that does a great job that is not in Queens? If I found a closer place, I'd probably have done it a lot sooner and not been hating my hair. And not for $$$ money. TP was $200 3) can they do just the regrowth? And how does that come out if anyone has had it done before.
TIA

Re: JHS or Brazilian and where?
I'm going through the same thing.
I spoke to my hairdresser about this. While Brazilian is less harsh on your hair than JHS, there are chemicals used in the process (formaldahyde) which are pretty dangerous. They really don't konw the long term affects on the beauticians and recipients of Brazilian straightening. So I think I am going with JHS.
Where- that is the next question...

I can answer #3
I just get my roots done
but I go every 6 months
after a year- you are most likely going to need your whole head

You'd think but my hair grows pretty slow. There's definitely a lot of regrowth but it's not like the old JHS is just on the ends, I have at least 6 or 7 inches of JHS. I don't care about the price (difference between whole head or regrowth) as much as concern over not doing the part that already was straightened. I think I'm just going to knuckle under and book a Top Point session.

she charges me $150 for the roots
6 or 7" is average for a year - when I get the roots done it's like 3" of re-growth
it takes just as long to get the roots as a whole head
