Cornell ladies- just a word of caution

I don't mean to scare anyone by the title of this post. however I just want all of you lovely ladies to know the headache I have been dealing with and make sure it doesn't happen to you.

I got pregnant in Feb. and recently started to get bills for bloodwork. Luckily, they accept my insurance as they are a center of excellence. However, because I had a pregnancy test and some other bloods related to pregnancy done, Cornell is trying to bill as out of network. Long story short, just make sure once you're having pregnacy tests done at the office, make sure your insurance will cover it. If not, get a script and go to a participating lab. I don't want anyone to have to pay hundreds of dollars unnecessarily.

That being said, I am so greatful to my doctor. It just stinks that months later, the office is trying to screw me out of money.

You know. I can remember signing something about billing at my RE and it said that all the office visits are covered 100% but that it changes after I get at BFP... For Empire, I mean.

Thanks for the heads up. I bet this applies to all the centers of excellence.

I also have empire- DH is a state worker. My office never told me this.

I just want everyone to be aware. I know how difficult it is to cope with IF but then to have to deal with this is just unnecessary.

Good luck ladies. I pray for all of you each and every day.Chat Icon

I wasn't aware they took insurance at all. Thanks for the heads up. I wish some of mine were covered. Your specific RE must take insurance, mine doesn't. Will they let you go to a local lab for a beta test? I have been doing that for the extra prelim b/w they wanted me to do so it would be covered.

Its strange b/c all the bloods are included in the price of the IVF cycle (for us not covered) except for the pg test Chat Icon

And yes, I usually get a script to go to Quest for my beta
