Yeast Infections?

Another sexy topic.....

I think I have one Chat Icon Chat Icon
I haven't had one since I was 15 and I forgot how awful it is. I think its from those progesterone suppositories. I bought Vagisil, but I'm afraid to use it....can it be harmful? I googled it, but found nothing.
I don't think I can wait until tomorrow to call the dr....what am I going to do tonight?
Has anyone used vagisil? What does one do in this situation?

Re: Yeast Infections?

Some take OTC creams. I went to my doc and got an Rx for Terazol - its a 7 day treatment and worked like a charm. Personally, I would never put anything "up there" while PG without asking a doctor. But that is just me.

Sorry you have to deal with this, it can be very uncomfy.

Re: Yeast Infections?

ugh... sorry to hear that... but I know it's common during pregnancy

I agree with Leslie... I also wouldn't use anything OTC without the OB's nod of approval. When a nurse on duty thought I may be beginning a yeast infection, she told me I shouldn't sleep with underwear... to promote air circulation Chat Icon

so definitely do that tonight. I hope you feel better soon!

Re: Yeast Infections?

The progesterone suppositories can cause very yeast infection symtoms....I would go make sure that is what it is.

The suppositories cause drying, itching and pain for some.

I had a wicked one after I was put on antibiotics for a UTI.....My poor who-ha was miserable ......Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

My midwife recomended to use monistat a 7 day course instead of a 1 or 3 day course.....

I would always ask your practitioner first before starting anything!

Feel better!

Re: Yeast Infections?

I'm on my third one since being pregnant. My doc gave me a prescription each time for a 7 day treatment. I would call the doc. Feel better they suck!!!
