speaking of clothing brands...

Do you consider Abercrombie & Fitch to be immature? I use to be a big fan, but now at 26, I feel like I might be too old. Is there such a thing as being too old for a brand?

Re: speaking of clothing brands...

my brother asked me this a few months back. i think it depends on what you are wearing. their long sleeved, button down men's shirts are really crisp and nice looking -- they looked great on kenneth so i told him that, for those shirts, no - he is not too old. wearing a t-shirt with ABERCROMBIE written across it is a different thing for a 30 year old lol. he agreed. for me, i like some of their stuff - their jeans are just like any other jeans (i prefer the fit) so that makes no difference -- i'm not about to wear one of their mini skirts or t-shirts at my age lol even though i'm "only" 24 i just don't feel some of the stuff is appropriate for me.

Re: speaking of clothing brands...

Yeah, but their pants fit me great.

Abercrombie is just coming to Australia. They don't have A&F stores, but other stores sell a limited line. People of all ages are wearing it.

I personally wouldn't wear any brand slapped across my chest. Why should I pay to advertise for them?

The first and last time I went into hollister, I knew I was too old at the ripe age of 26 because everyone in there was so young, and the shorts were so tiny. I felt like a geezer in there Chat Icon

ETA I never set foot in A&F, there are all kids in there and the music is too loud for my old ears!!

Very high school.

I teach high school and while I'm no old f a r t, you won't see me ever wearing those brands.

Nothing looks sillier than a mom of a teenage girl who dresses in the same outfits as her daughter.

I have dusting rags that have more material than their shorts.

And speaking about the music, what other store VIBRATES?

Re: speaking of clothing brands...

Most of the clothing is immature, but I still like some things like their jeans and some sweatshirts and outerwear.

Re: speaking of clothing brands...

DH shops there as well as hollister, and american eagle.

I have a few collared shirts from there but that's about it.

I like how he looks in the stuff.

Although I think they have some cute tank tops and button downs I would never wear their skirts!

Re: speaking of clothing brands...

I think it depends!

I was a manager there once upon a time and abercrombie kids is targeted at 7-14years old, Hollister is targeted at 14-17 year olds, A&F at 17-24 year olds and now the new Ruehl is targeted for 25+

I do still wear a lot of A&F clothing being that my sister is now a manager there and I get 40% but not nearly as much as I used to! But I do love RuehlChat Icon

Re: speaking of clothing brands...

I wouldn't say immature, but it certainly has a target market. Just like you normally don't see 14 year olds shopping at Ann Taylor.

Re: speaking of clothing brands...

I think that Abercrombie stuff is really cute but do they still play the blaring music in the stores? I buy my niece her B-day and holiday gifts there but I sometimes just buy online because I dread the loud music. I feel old because of my reaction to the music more so than the clothes.

Yes, I have outgrown several brands and stores. I walk past stores that used to have the staples of my wardrobe!!!!

Re: speaking of clothing brands...

Im 43 and I tend to think alot of the clothing is young. But i have their jeans and I like them (I don't wear the ripped ones, but God I would love to) I also thinks its how you wear it. P.S. I think 26 is defiantly young enough to wear it.Chat Icon

I'm 30 and I wear some of the tshirts and pants. 30 isn't too old for tshirts! I admit we're definitely not the target group though. Chat Icon

Yes. Plus I can't fit my butt into thier clothes anymore. I think they make the clothes with no hips!

Re: speaking of clothing brands...

I think it's basically for the younger teen to early 20's set. At least that's when I wore it.

But they do have some pieces that could work, like their jeans, for anyone at any age.
