Pokey is in the hospital
with all the other drama I have going on today
my little pokey started peeing all over the house- just little spots
I took him to the vet this morning- they were so nice to squeeze me in
he doesn't have a blockage which is great
but they needed to run some tests
I hope to be able to pick him back up soon
they think it's a UTI

Re: Pokey is in the hospital
Monday Update
He is back to his old self
he HATES the medicine- but I managed to give it him this morning w/o Jake helping
I actually think it's better if I just do it alone- he is so much more comfortable with me
and no more peeing in anyplace other then the litter box!

Re: Pokey is in the hospital
I'm glad to hear he's doing better...but please watch him closely. Our cat had the exact same thing, went on antibiotics and was fine...a month later he wouldn't move off the couch except to use the litterbox and we rushed him to the vet. Male cats don't normally get UTI's, they get blockages. In Espresso's case, they didn't see a blockage and put him on antibiotics...temporary cure. The blockage came back, he had to go to the specialist and have a catheter installed and stay there for a week. He is now on a special diet and can only eat wet food. If we hadn't noticed how lethargic he was acting, he would be dead. The vet told us that a male cat will hide it and they can die in a matter of a couple days.
