Please help my congestionnnnnnnnnnnnnn
What do you do when your congested and dont wanna take meds?
I cant take anything much and vicks doesnt seem to help much..anyone else know of some home remedies for severe nasal and ear congestion???? I am losing it!

Hot shower. The steam really helps.
I know some people who shoot warm salt water up their nose. It makes your nose run a lot and clear it out. I could never do that.
ETA: Put the vicks on the wall of the shower. It mixes with the steam and works well.

I used very hot wash clothes over my face
I would do it about every half hour

if I'm REAL congested, vicks in a pot of water with my head over the steam and a towel over my head- it helps!

Steam - lots of it - take long hot showers - let the water run over your head (if you have a shower in the tub just sit and let the water run over you) while you are in there you can put a hot towel over your face - or run steaming hot water in the sink and put a towel over your head to steam - blow your nose frequently.
Also keep drinking tons of hot fluids - if you don't want caffine then drink hot lemonade.
Also if you get tight - spicy food will drain you as well.

I have a hot water bottle on my chest to try to help break up these wheezy/mucus.
I'm also on 6 pills a day. Iknow you don't want to take meds. If you don't get this resolved, it's not going to do you or your family any good. You need to take care of yourself. If it's gone on for more than a week, you need to see a doctor. Right now, I have a bacterial infection, bronchitis & a sinus infection. Dr said I have to break up the lung thing before the sinus infection makes its way down to my chest. You don't want to wind up as I did - gasping for air at 3 am. Please see someone before you get worse.

When I was about 12 weeks preggo, I had HORRIBLE bronchitis and congestion, and I broke down and took Tylenol Cold. But I tried everything else first. The only thing that really helped was the steam with some peppermint oil in it. Just be sure to close your eyes over it or else it burns!
