I can't take these swollen ankles!!!!

My ankles are swollen....

Why does this happen?

Its not my salt intake (I dont do salt) I stayed off my feet for two days and kept them elevated. Took tylenol and even iced them down.

My left foot is so bad it feels like it would pop like a balloon if you took a needle to it. Or that it will split on it's own. The swelling also makes all the skin tingle when it moves like it's literally dead skin.. VERY odd feeling.

But you find out.. you let me know!


I know it got worse with the heat, but I'm 36w so I figure, now's better than forever so Oh well.. and I just keep truckin

It happens because of the increased amount of blood and fluids circulating through the body during pregnancy (about 40% more than normal). Add to that the slowed down circulation and fluid tends to pool in the extremities. My Dr. just told me to drink a ton of water and watch my salt. She said as long as my blood pressure was ok it wasn't dangerous, just annoying.

I am worried that it is dangerous.

I thought maybe it's because I am standing too much.
