Slow down kiddo!!!
In the past 2-3 weeks, Ed-lie has been more active than I ever thought was possible. I truly feel she is "mooning me" because I see this rather large protrusion from my abdomen pushing its way out from time to time so it has to be her butt. My belly looks like ebbs and tides with all of its waves. Sometimes, I schedule shows for audiences near and far - rather entertaining.
She is truly giving me a run for my money in the last 19 days of this pregnancy. In my heart, I feel she has my mother's fiesty spirit. Now that I think about it, I was more conscious of her movements from the day Mom passed away. Mom was a woman who loved to be in the middle of things and HAD to have her presence known. I suppose this is Mom's way of letting me know she is with me through Ed-lie. Or at least I choose to believe that.
But here's the thing. I thought fetal movement was supposed to slow down as you near childbirth - not disappear, but just slow down.

Re: Slow down kiddo!!!
Well the week before I had DC he was like a little acrobat. As a matter of fact, the day I delivered the nurses hooked me up to the stress machine thingy & asked me to press a button every time I felt a kick or a movement. I pressed the button 26 times in the first 30 seconds. They actually thought I was just pushing it through one movement. I told them no, I felt it here, then over there, then down here, now up there.
So the point of the story is...he was an active little bugger right up to delivery.

Re: Slow down kiddo!!!
cute! I love all the movement.
yeah, I heard it's supposed to decline too... but I'm certain every pregnancy is different.... maybe Ed-lie doesn't mind moving in that restricted space as much as other babies? that would suggest a fiesty personality

Well Mom always said "You should only have one just like yourself." Great - just what this world needs - another intolerant cheese lover.

Is that every Jewish mothers wish? Everytime I have a complaint, Lenny says to me, "well, your mother always said she hopes your child is just like you"

Re: Slow down kiddo!!!
Leslie, you are only a week ahead of me and I am feeling the same thing. butt sticks out all the time and people see it from across the room! DH actually felt moving for 2 solid hours the other night. And, not a kick here and there. I mean FULL ON movement. You could feel a foot, a hand, an elbow...everything. I thought things were supposed to "slow down" in there too. I guess he still has a lot of room in there.
Maybe your mother's fiesty spirit and my grandfather's Ukranian dancing is inspiring our babies!

Re: Slow down kiddo!!!
I always thought they slowed down too b/c they were so cramped but my little bugger is moving more than ever and I can feel it everywhere now so it gets kind of uncomfortable! I don't remember this with my first .

Re: Slow down kiddo!!!
I think my little meatball realizes he doesnt have much room so he's making his own. He doesnt stop. One night I thought he was trying to make his way out via my belly button.
My doctor said to me as he gets bigger the space gets smaller so movement may not be as much as it has been. I told him yea well tell him that because he is taking it upon himself to make more room. He especially loves to move my bladder and ribs

Re: Slow down kiddo!!!
DS moved up a storm up until he came out, so no, not all babies slow down.
