So bummed

I updated my post yesterday but no one responeded Chat Icon

So anyway, I went for my first internal last night. I had the strep B test. The exam was not bad at all. Very fast actually. But here's my problem...the doctor told me I will most likely need a C-Section because of the shape of my pelvic bone. I am so devestated by this. He wants me to have the other dr in the practice examine me next week and see if he feels the same way. If he does I will most likely be scheduling a section. I am beyond disappointed. Any thoughts? input? experience? advice? Thanks Chat Icon

Re: So bummed

Im sorry...no advice. I wouldnt get upset until the second opinion...this doctor must not have had much confidence in what he found. On the other hand...there are some up sides to C sections...I may have to have one and its the pros that make it seem not so bad. Chat Icon

Re: So bummed

i am so sorry sweetie... the only thing is that i feel like it's good that your doctor found this out now, and you can get a scheduled c-section (if that's what you really need) instead of going thru labor and then finding out that Chat Icon can't be delivered naturally... it will save you SO much stress on your body. i am glad you are getting a second opinion, try not to worry till then Chat Icon

Re: So bummed

No experience. But you should get a second opinion. I hate it when Dr.'s are so quick to give a woman a C-section.

I don't really have an experience to share but I wanted to send you some Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon . I know it's not the news you wanted to hear and like most of us having a C-section is probably not on the top of your list of things to do BUT remember, whether you go naturally or have a C as long as the baby is healthy that's all the matters. At the end of the day when you're holding your little peanut in your arms it won't even matter how she got there just that she's finally with you!! Feel better and keep us posted. Re: So bummed

first of all, i am sorry

I understand how you feel about the birthing experience

Just know that in the end, all that matters is getting the baby out safely and you will have the motherhood experience

perhaps your mom can be in the OR with you and DH

I would definitely get a few opinions. IMO doctor's are too quick to rush into C sections. Sorry I have no personal experience though. Chat Icon

Dr. S and the weird thing is he goes "See Dr H next week and don't tell him what I think just see what he says." Huh? Chat Icon Deedlebug had the SAME exact thing happen and she said something to Dr H and scheduled a section. Basically it's supposed to be shaped like a diamond and mine is more like a triangle so there is a strighter part that could be hard to get the baby through.
I don't want to pose any risk to her but I'm bummed.
