I don't really understand why someone would hate something that someone else wears so much...its none of anyone elses business. I don't get the hatred.

I mean, I am not a big fan of Uggs, I wouldn't wear them personally, but god bless ya if you want to wear them! Oh well, someones always got to criticise other people, we wouldn't have journalists otherwise!!!

This has always fascinated me, too. I could never understand why people dedicate so much energy on something they don't like. If they don't like it so much and it's not harming them or anyone else, why would you want to waste any time and energy at all on it?!

(And FWIW, I am not a fan of crocs either!)

It makes people laugh. Especially people who dislike what you dislike. It's easier to bond with snark and sarcasm.. I do it all the time!Chat Icon

Me too!!!

I find the sub industry of random cr@p to stick in them ("Plastic strawberries and bananas") even more offensive for some reason.

Re: Please End The Crocs Nightmare

There are a lots of fascion things I don't like. I think Uggs are ugly. Yet there are still there and people claim there are so comfy. Would I tell someone they are ugly? No! They like them. Good for them!

Yes, my crocs too are comfy and I LOVE THEM. Only recently did I actually let go of them and use them as garden shoes.

Obviously crocs are popular otherwise they would be in business.

I just don't understand why people feel the need to write or tell you how ugly your shoes are.

Geez, maybe saying "it's not my style" would not be so hatred. Really!

Re: Please End The Crocs Nightmare

I'm not a fan of them and the article was somewhat amusing until this paragraph:

Oh, if only we'd known what a tsunami of fashion idiocy was about to be unleashed, maybe we could have stopped it somehow, and they would have stayed in the garden where they belong, covered with manure, a trendy item to be featured on www.stuffwhitepeoplelike.com. If only. Then they wouldn't be out there in the American mainstream, that big, vast, sweaty mainstream traipsing through our airports and over our beaches and around our great shopping malls. Plop, plop, plop, they go, stuffing their Crocs faces with ice cream and Doritos and giant sodas. Plop, plop, plop. Stuff, stuff, stuff. Yuck, yuck, yuck. And the rest of us have to watch....

It makes everyone who wears Crocs sound like big pigs. So you don't like them...maybe it's the people in 25 year old tshirts with one belt who teach their kids to make fun of other people are bigger Dorito shoveling pigs.

Honestly, while the article was mildly amusing, the main thought I came away with is -- "Wow, the author sounds like a total douchebag."

Re: Please End The Crocs Nightmare

I will admit that I have a pair in light blue, and they have been a GODSEND since I've been pregnant. Granted, I don't really wear them out in public, unless we're going for a walk around the neighborhood, or I'm going out to get the mail...but I have them, and they ARE super comfortable.

I agree. And it sounds like they are raising their child to be just as big as one!
