book recommendations
Hi everyone. I was wondering what books are good to read. I realized that I know nothing about pregnancy and am starting to get anxious. I have only one friend with a child and she was pregnant 8 years ago. I am usually a research type of person and I really don't know where to begin. Thanks.

Re: book recommendations
I like the "Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy" and "Great Expectations Pregnancy and Childbirth". For week to week updates on the baby's growth along with really cool 3D sono pics I like "Watch Me Grow".

I LOVED "The Girlfriends's Guide to Pregnancy"
Ditto & Your Pregnancy Week by Week.
If you are a worrier, or easily upset I would not recommend What to Expect. The first few chapters are filled with some not so great things & to be honest drove me insane with all the symptoms I was & was not feeling, etc.
It is very informative though and thorough.
Oh and Belly Laughs is a great read too.

Get your man "The Expectant Father" - it is perfect for a man and they need to know what is going on with you!

Re: book recommendations
I prefer My Pregnancy week by week and the Mayo Clinic Pregnancy book over What to Expect when you are Expecting. Also Jenny Mcarthy's book was very entertaining!

I think this book is great for informational purposes. For a fun read, Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy and Belly Laughs are great.

Re: book recommendations
I actually got a lot of my info from different websites (baby gaga, just mommies, ehd.org)
as for stuff I bought.... it's not a book, but a DVD... I LOVE Laugh and Learn about child birth.. it talks about all the changes that happen in the 3rd trimester, and goes into detail about what we will experience in labor, and ways to manage it......
