Honestly, I'd just stay out of it. But, that is just scaredy cat me. But, it is beyond 7 days, which is technically a week (OK i'm up way too late working). So according to your info, go and enjoy.

Re: Swimming after ET?

I was wondering the same. I've been tortured looking at the sparkly blue water while the weather is perfect. But I'm not going in until this weekend. It'll be more than a week for me.

I was told not to go in until the beta...I would call your RE to double check. My paperwork says no swimming for two weeks.Chat Icon

I know I FMd you last night but wanted to put it out on the boards so others know as well....
I know our paperwork says one week, but the nurse at LI-IVF told me the same thing Gerty posted- not until the beta.

I looked online at different sites and the main reasoning was that you don't want to risk infection... so I'd def. stay out of the water. Chat Icon Ahh the joys of doing IVF mid-summer on LI! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Hang in there!!!!

Re: Swimming after ET?

But honestly, if you're swimming in your own pool, it should be fine. You know it's chlorinated properly. I would go to a public (cess)pool, though.

Re: Swimming after ET?

I just spent some time looking the whole swimming thing up. It seems it's a big no-no for a lot of clinics.

Fine, but why would LI-IVF say no to it for one week after transfer only? The post-transfer instructions also say we can "resume relations" ONE day after transfer. Oh, sign me up for that one.

sigh.

Chat Icon I thought the same thing. Chat Icon I told DH no BDing--- I consider the ER to be a 'surgery' since I got knocked out (even for a short while and even if it was technically twilight sleep or whatever they call it) so I told DH to stay away from me for the next 2 weeks. Chat Icon Chat Icon
I'm hormonal, bloated, sore, and sticking suppositories up my hoohah.... 4x a day- WHAT could be more attractive that that??? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Swimming after ET?

There are some things that I would err on the side of caution.
So many clinics say no sex and no swimming until after beta, so I wait.

Re: Swimming after ET?

i agree with the other posters. If it were me, I would stay out of the pool. I swim regularly 3-4x a week..it would be tough but what's a few more days?
