For those who have breastfed...
or plan on breastfeeding...I know this has probably been asked before, but where are you planning on keeping the baby: with you in the bedroom or in his/her nursery
Is it just way easier to have the baby beside you, feed him/her, and put it back to sleep, but my other concern is if you plan to pump, so your hubby can help...is it best to have the baby in the nursery so not to disturb the person who is sleeping while the other is feeding the baby...Thanks for your thoughts!!!!!

Re: For those who have breastfed...
DD will be in our room until about 3 months old. When i wake up i will just feed her in my bed or in my glider.

DD will be in our room for the first 3 months, but I plan on feeding her in the glider in the nursery and bring her back to bed after.

Re: For those who have breastfed...
we plan on keeping the baby in our room for the first several months, I think this is a lot easier since he will be right by my side in his bassinet rather than going to get him out of his room to feed

Re: For those who have breastfed...
The baby will be in her own room and I plan on breastfeeding. Once I get up I always have to pee anyway. I wont be rolling over to have her latch on regardless.
She will not be in our room.

Re: For those who have breastfed...
I had a co sleeper next to the bed. I couldn't imagine getting up and going into another room all night. I was too exhausted

Re: For those who have breastfed...
I found that you can plan all you want, but the reality can be very different. I had the pack & play set up beside my bed so I could easily BF at night. That lasted ONE night! Every little sound DD made had me awake, with the flashlight, peering into the PNP. I couldn't sleep because of all the little noises she made! So night two she was in her crib, in her own room. I also found BF in the glider to be a zillion times more comfortable and convenient than in bed (I need soooo many pillows to get it right).

Re: For those who have breastfed...
This baby (like DS) will be in the basinete at first until the nursery is all set up. We will decide after the baby is here whether it will be in our room or in the nursery. DS was in our room for a few weeks and every time he breathed, we woke up. It was helpful to just roll over and grab him but I still had to get up regardless.

Re: For those who have breastfed...
My original plan was to keep him in the bassinet part of the PNP in our room just until I recovered from birth.
A month later and he is still in our room and I do not plan on moving him out any time soon.
Some nights there are only 2 feedings and others I feel like he spends the whole night on and off the breast. I couldn't imagine having to get up and go to his room.

Re: For those who have breastfed...
I plan to keep the baby in his/her own room, I have a feeling I won't get much sleep with the baby right next to me, plus our room isn't very big, so adding anohter peice of furniture would really cramp the room.

Re: For those who have breastfed...
I had my first in the room until 12 weeks and will do the same with this baby...it was easier for me to feed her in bed and then put her back in the bassinet...also, I was paranoid and needed to look at her constantly to make sure she was there! My husband didn't even hear her start to fuss before I picked her up and if she was really upset, I would take her to the nursery so I didn't disturb him too much.

Re: For those who have breastfed...
We kept in his bassinet next to our bed. No way I would have survived getting up ever 2-3 hours to go into the nursery to get him, feed him, put him down, go back to my bed and repeat.
