Anyone here a colorist/hair dresser?
So as I said in previous post, my hairdresser was fired from the salon he was in.
I've contacted him via email, he is thinking over whether going to a salon again or just getting a chair in his house and doing it on his own. He said he would think about it and is 'enjoying the time off' and would have a decision in a week or two.
I told him I desperately needed a touchup, so he gave me my 'formula'. So now I have my formula, and of course I'm thinking crazy things. I can buy the dye off the internet, and I've watched him do it a MILLION times. The only thing I'm confused about is; what do they mix the dye with to make it more 'liquid' to pull the color thruout the hair? He usually brushes on at the roots when its a creme; lets it set for half hour; then comes back with something in a bottle, and mushes it all over my hair, and wait another 15 minutes.
I'm wondering what's in the bottle to make it more liquid.. I assume it's the same color, mixed with a thinner....
If I could get that, I could probably do this myself, or at least attempt it!

what is your formula?
He could be mixing with a creme peroxide to bring the color up and then maybe adding shampoo to do a "soap cap" which just runs through your hair to touch up the color there...
I am not a hair dresser, but I worked in a shop (doing nails) for years

He told me the brand, the colors, and the amount of each color I need.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Not a hair dresser but I would just be careful. You don't want to mess around with color and peroxide and such.
My girl gave me my formula when she left the business and I took it to another salon/colorist. They were able to mix it up there and do it and it came out just the same.... Might be a safer bet...

What brand is it? I buy professional color at a place that sells to the public. I don't think they are supposed to but they will. The people who work there have answered my questions, and they've even saved me money with some tips on what I need and don't need.

It's Wella. I saw I can buy it online, I'm just perplexed about what they use to thin it up to put it on the whole head....
I'd be greatful for any info you can share!
