canine liver shunts?? any information
my sister just found out her puppy has a liver shunt. Anyone else have experience with them? My sister has to bring the dog in for a sonogram to determine if it is internal (hopefully it is, because then it can be fixed) or external.
Any advice/ information would be great.. thank you!
Here's Debo 5 mo French Bulldog- male

Just make sure to keep the puppy under close watch. I know somoene with a puppy who had liver shunts, The dog just started seizuring. I am sure the vet will tell her what to look out for and do everything they can. for the puppy!

thank you... that's the strange thing. Debo hasn't shown any symptoms of liver issues. The dr was stunned that anything came up. Right now, the vet said the ultrasound will be next week & from there they will decide what to do next. The only good part is that the vet's dog has the same issue so my sister feels very comfortable with this dr.
